Hi, I'm Mark, I suffered with terrible back pain and muscle spasms for almost 2 years. It had a huge impact, effecting my work and home life. I went to see various Consultants, had a wide range of scans and was taking a concoction of strong prescription drugs.
I tried various alternative therapies and treatments, some had no effect and others offered some pain relief. The most effective I found to be Sports Massage Therapy.
I began to research the subject of back pain and the effects of Sports Massage techniques on the body. I went on to study Anatomy & Physiology and Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy at St Mary’s University in Twickenham. Two months into the course I’d reduced my pain by about 80%, I was no longer on any medication and I was back doing the sports I enjoyed. Having learnt about the body, how the muscular and skeletal systems work, postural problems and discovered the huge effects of muscle imbalances, I began a routine of stretching and strengthening in conjunction with Sports Massage and now lead a pain free life once again.
